Favorite Images

Some of my favorite images from around the area and around the world. They have only two things in common: one, I took them myself, and two, I like them.  This is a testament to my photography skill and good taste, both of which are frequently called into question.

The Monument to the Unknown Bureaucrat. Reykjavik, Iceland. Namesake of this blog.

Icelandic flag at Þingvellir. Bláskógabyggð, Iceland. Home of the world's oldest (some say) parliament and crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.

Painting of Heathcliff the Cat. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On display at the Family Court building, for some reason.

World's best license plate. Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.

Poster encouraging the reporting of fraud and abuse. Oxford, Pennsylvania. Note the witty addition.

Commemorative Plaque, City Island, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I don't know who the man is but I like the tribute.

Flags over City Island, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The Capitol can be seen in the background.

Laundromat dryer instructions, Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Check for children, pets and foreign objects before loading.

Constable Association Pageant Queen photo, Redstone, Pennsylvania. Yes, that's a man.

Sign found in a government office, Mill Hall, Pennsylvania.

Antique lamp post destroyed by falling Christmas Tree. Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Another reason to keep religion and government separate.

Some sort of mocha latte coffee concoction. Easton, Pennsylvania.  Consumed at the Quadrant Bookstore prior to a Lafayette-Lehigh game.

Sticker found on bank depository drawer. New Cumberland, Pennsylvania.

Track mileage sign. Franklin Township, Pennsylvania. The track was designed for the very popular 731-yard dash.

America! The Store. Dulles, Virginia. Conveniently located at Dulles Airport and serving all of your USA-related merchandise needs.
